Oil-Free Granola Recipe

Tired of expensive store-bought granola? This tasty, oil-free granola is just what you need for a healthy start to your day.

Ingredients
  

  • 3 cups rolled oats
  • 1 cup chopped nuts (almonds, walnuts, etc)
  • 2 cups diced dried fruit (one type or mixed)
  • ΒΌ cup syrup sweetener (maple syrup, honey, etc)

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 300 degrees. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone mat.
  • Measure 3 cups of oats into a large mixing bowl.
  • Add chopped nuts and syrup sweetener. Using a wooden spoon or your hands, mix thoroughly so that the oats and nuts are evenly covered with the sweetener.
  • Pour the mixture onto the baking tray and spread out evenly with a wooden spoon.
  • Place in oven. Every 5 minutes, remove tray from oven and stir oats. Make sure they are spread out evenly again before returning to the oven.
  • Continue to stir oats every 5 minutes up for up to 30 minutes or so, or until oats and nuts become lightly toasted. Feel free to taste as you go.
  • Once you reach the desired toastiness, remove from oven and let sit to cool.
  • Once cooled, place toasted oats in another mixing bowl and now mix in the dried fruits. Stir thoroughly and you are ready to serve!
