Preheat the oven to 300 degrees. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone mat.
Measure 3 cups of oats into a large mixing bowl.
Add chopped nuts and syrup sweetener. Using a wooden spoon or your hands, mix thoroughly so that the oats and nuts are evenly covered with the sweetener.
Pour the mixture onto the baking tray and spread out evenly with a wooden spoon.
Place in oven. Every 5 minutes, remove tray from oven and stir oats. Make sure they are spread out evenly again before returning to the oven.
Continue to stir oats every 5 minutes up for up to 30 minutes or so, or until oats and nuts become lightly toasted. Feel free to taste as you go.
Once you reach the desired toastiness, remove from oven and let sit to cool.
Once cooled, place toasted oats in another mixing bowl and now mix in the dried fruits. Stir thoroughly and you are ready to serve!
